In talking to other educated women it appears that many of them have the same opinion regarding men and dating. They feel that the average man is intimidated by a woman that is intelligent. They also feel that they often have to dumb themselves down so as not to threaten them. My initial reaction is to deny that any man would be that foolish but after putting thought into it, perhaps it could be possible. Some men say they want a smart woman until they meet one who can actually challenge them.

Men are typically egotistical beings that sometimes allow their ego to be their compass. So, I can see why a man might be intimidated by a woman who is more educated than them. For one, if she is more educated than them then chances are that she will also be more successful than them and could be more financially stable than them as well. However, can a woman with a brain on her truly be a turn off to a man?

Chances are that she would challenge them mentally and that could be an attractive quality for some. Some men want a woman who can hold a conversation, offer insight, and keep them on their toes. Others may feel exposed when they cannot control the room or outshine the person sitting across from them. This one is for the guys. A real man should see that kind of woman as a prize, not a threat. If he is secure, he should welcome the challenge instead of running from it.
